Do you know any great inclusion blogs/resources?
I have just been offered a position as an inclusion counselor at a summer camp for children  primarily in grades 4-6 but also for grades 7-11. I would love if you would share any resources you use or blogs you read on the topic of inclusion!  I will be on the hunt for some as well and will do a follow up post of all the suggestions.

Diary of a First Year Teacher: What's it Like to... →
What’s it Like to Be a First Year Teacher? A colleague of mine is teaching a secondary social studies methods class at a local university this spring. He asked if I and another first year s.s. teacher would be willing to speak to his teacher candidates about what it’s like to be a first year teacher. Here’s what I know so far: Ask for help when you need it Do not isolate yourself in your...

Ms. Leah, HBIC: Adaptions in Art for Special Needs... →
General Suggestions: - Be aware of the goals on the student’s IEP in order to help the student achieve personal goals. It might be a more important goal for the student to learn socialization, to complete a task, or develop fine-motor ability than to make a work of fine art. - Relaxing background music or headphones may help a student who has trouble focusing on the task at hand. - A “time-out”...

How to write a novel (or story) using the...
1 Write a summary of your novel in one sentence. Take an hour and write out your one sentence summary. This sentence will be how you hook an editor into buying your novel. Therefore, it should be the best you can think up. 2 Turn your sentence into a 5 sentence paragraph that outlines the beginning, conflicts and the end of your novel. Next, give each of the major characters a one...
